“I started Gena after my personal experience with cancer. In 2019, my mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a terminal brain cancer with an average life expectancy of about a year, turning our world upside down.
During her journey, we saw the limitations of conventional NHS treatments. Refusing to settle for outdated protocols, we sought therapies based on her tumour’s genetics and the latest research. This approach likely extended her life by an extra year—a deeply meaningful outcome given the prognosis.”
Motivated by my personal experience and a desire to help others facing similar challenges, I envisioned Gena to make personalised medicine a reality for all. We were fortunate to explore alternative treatments outside the NHS, but for many, this isn’t an option. That’s why we focus on breaking accessibility and affordability barriers to tumor genomic sequencing—a vital step toward personalized cancer care.
Gena is committed to providing accessible genomic sequencing and empowering patients with better access to clinical trials, tailored therapies, and off-label drugs.
Though my mum passed away on January 11, 2021, this profound experience drives my commitment to transforming cancer care through Gena.
